Matchday 11 – RESULT !

16 July, 2006

Results posted, and table updated.

Beatdown O’ The Week

Scooter SC 6 : 29 Let’s Fighting Love

23 point differential

With only one matchday left to play in the second group stage, we find most groups undecided.

Only Group Z has determined its winner, with DakotaFanningFanClub storming back into form after barely scraping into this stage. The remaining three clubs are level on points.

Group Y has one club safely through to the quarterfinals in Perpetual Motion Machine. Footer Phooter is out of the competition. Etch’s Right Foot is in position to advance as the group winner if it can defeat Perpetual Motion Machine on the last day. If ERF lose and Real FC AC DC 1836 Rovers United win with a combined goal difference of 30, then the latter will see their ticket punched for the quarterfinals.

Group X sees The Legion of Doom clinching a spot in the quarterfinals while DCU Matadors have been gored by the competition. Locomotive Baltimore have an outside chance of taking the group if results go a particular way on the last matchday, while Windsor Wanderers will need to win outright to advance.

Finally, in Group W, only BigRob has been eliminated, with the top spot shared by Los Animales & Lets’ Fighting Love. Scooter SC trails by 3 points and can advance with a win vs . Los Animales on the last matchday (if Let’s Fighting Love win). If LFL lose and the aforemention win by Scooter SC comes to pass, we have a quagmire in Group W that will have to use multiple tiebreakers. In this case, SCS would have the h2h advantage over LA, LFL would have the advantage over SCS, and LA & LFL would be tied and would have to go to goal difference, which would currently by won by LA. My head hurts!
