The Group Stage is over

13 July, 2008

The last Matchday of Group Stage II is over (finally) and we are on to the knockout stages of the Cup. A results page has been created (and posted after the jump). Also, the final Group Tables have been updated.

Beakerhead FC won Group W outright. Erimus all stars and The Green Army were tied for second in the final table. The first tiebreaker (head to head results) was even, so the second tiebreaker (goal difference) came into play. Erimus all stars advance with a (ahem) superior goal difference of -8 to The Green Army’s -22.

RFK United and Locomotive Baltimore tied at the top of Group X in the final table. The first tiebreaker (head to head results) was even, so the second tiebreaker (goal difference) came into play. RFK United claimed the top spot through a superior goal difference of 14 to Locomotive Baltimore’s 2.

Group Y was very straightforward, with Lakeview United clinching top spot and Forest Glen AC going through in second place.

Arlington Avengers clinched top spot in Group Z, with Crying Dukie Rugrat and Clive’s Shoot ‘em Up Strikers tied for second.  The first tiebreaker (head to head results) was even, so the second tiebreaker (goal difference) came into play.  Crying Dukie Rugrat went through to the knockout stages through a superior goal difference of 10 to Clive’s Shoot ‘em Up Strikers -16.
