Seven Corners United 5 2 3 0 80 86 -6 6

This is the most wide open group. All teams have a chance to advance, although Westfield United has a virtually unassailable lead in Goal Difference should they lose and end up in a tiebreaking situation.

DCU In Exile vs Westfield United

B P W L D F A GD Pts
DakotaFanningFanClub 5 5 0 0 82 33 49 15
Forest Glen AC 5 2 3 0 57 53 4 6
Erimus United 5 2 3 0 51 83 -32 6
DC Jammers 5 1 4 0 59 80 -21 3

DakotaFanningFanClub has advanced to the second phase, while DC Jammers have bowed out of the competition.  Forest Glen AC and Erimus United are both tied on 6 points and will face the other two teams in the group on the final matchday.  Forest Glen AC holds a sizeable Goal Difference advantage over Erimus United, so EU will be hoping for a DC Jammers victory to counteract that deficit.  Of course, EU will need to win for that to come into play!

**NOTE, DC JAMMERS live on and have a chance to clinch one of the 4 available 3rd place slots**

Group B Fixtures
DC Jammers vs Forest Glen AC
Erimus United vs DakotaFanningFanClub

Arlington Avengers 5 1 2 2 99 88 11 5
RFK United 5 0 4 1 29 70 -41 1

Old North State FC and Beakerhead FC are jockeying for the top spot, with ONSFC holding a two point advantage.  Also of note in this group is the failure of Cup Holders Arlington Avengers to advance beyond the first hurdle of this year’s competition.

**NOTE, deepest apologies to Arlington Avengers, who have a chance to clinch one of the 4 available 3rd place slots**

Group C Fixtures
Beakerhead FC vs Old North State FC
Arlington Avengers vs RFK United

Screaming Hooligans 5 2 3 0 72 69 3 6
Hanscom United 5 1 4 0 58 59 -1 3

Lakeview United have secured advancement, while Hanscom United have been eliminated.  Screaming Hooligans have a chance to catch RK United on the strength of goal difference should RK United fall to Lakeview United and Screaming Hooligans win their match against Hanscom United.

**NOTE, Hanscom United live on and have a chance to clinch one of the 4 available 3rd place slots**

Group D Fixtures
Screaming Hooligans vs Hanscom United

Colin & Brendan’s Bruges’ers 5 2 3 0 47 77 -30 6
Singapore United 5 1 4 0 35 83 -48 3

This group is all but decided; however, if Colin & Brendan’s Bruges’ers manage a lopsided victory over  Footer Phooter, they could miraculously advance.  A margin of 35 points is required for that scenario to materialize.

**NOTE, Singapore United live on and have a chance to clinch one of the 4 available 3rd place slots**

Group E Fixtures
Footer Phooter vs Colin & Brendan’s Bruges’ers
Singapore United vs The Irons

Crying Dookie Rugrat 5 2 3 0 64 59 5 6
FC Riders of Rohan 5 1 4 0 45 75 -30 3

Locomotive Baltimore have tied up one of the second phase slots from this group, while FC Riders of Rohan have – ahem- ridden off into the sunset.  It comes down to a head to head matchup between FC Untied and Crying Dookie Rugrat.  FC Untied has the advantage in both points and Goal Difference, however a win by Crying Dookie Rugrat by a margin of 6 or better will see them through to the next stage.

**NOTE, FC Riders of Roahn live on and have a chance to clinch one of the 4 available 3rd place slots**

Group F Fixtures
FC Untied vs Crying Dookie Rugrat

Thanks for the write-up, Eric. It’ll be an interesting final week for the division.

Due to poor planning on my part, Beakerhead FC is either a winning team or a bust. I essentially can’t sub any one with any worth! I hamstrung myself with some big ticket players and collected a bench-ful of dregs (with a couple of bright spots). Big mistake. One advantage is that I don’t spend much time every week trying to figure out who to play!

I have to apologize to a number of players that I originally declared “out”. Because of our fewer numbers, four third placed teams will advance to the second group phase. I will post a correction.
